Apply and remeasure

Processor-wide field test

Corrections affect all panels on the processor. The SDR/PQ insertion behavior and native-control model still require physical measurement. Numerical results do not establish a qualified stage calibration.

Prepare and apply

  1. Review the baseline analysis and candidate in Results. Use the LUT as the primary route; inspect the separate 14-way/curves residual if considering that alternative. Apply one route at a time.
  2. Choose Prepare LUT Test or Prepare Native Test, then Continue. Confirm the encoded SDR/PQ domain and baseline bypass state. Native tests also require baseline curves and 14-way correction bypassed during capture.
  3. Preparation reads the processor and saves a recovery journal. Unreadable backup data or a poor numerical fit blocks replacement.
  4. Choose Apply Prepared Change, then Continue and confirm. Preparation expires after 60 seconds; reprepare if it expires or the setup changes.
  5. Wait for matched readback. Use Deployment Details for the full status.

An unknown outcome is not a confirmed failure or a confirmed Apply. Do not retry blindly. Open the saved recovery journal, then prepare Bypass or Restore and confirm its separate Apply action. Restoring a previously empty LUT slot leaves residual bytes disabled because the API cannot delete those bytes.

Capture a linked post-Apply measurement

  1. Keep camera WB, exposure, shutter, lens and position unchanged.
  2. Choose Remeasure Applied Correction from the baseline run in Results. If needed, use Open Recovery Journal to select the verified Apply journal.
  3. Studio rereads the correction, native controls, processor identity/project and original input/output setup. This step sends no processor writes.
  4. On success, Studio saves a separate post-Apply .ap3drun beside the original. It retains the original analysis as the baseline and creates an explicit correction/readback link. The baseline run and its captures remain intact.
  5. Generate the new run's patterns and capture/import a fresh sequence after that readback, then analyze it. Imported footage must actually have been recorded after Apply; host import time does not prove camera exposure time.
  6. Choose Compare Measurements. Studio verifies readback again, then the worker checks the linkage, source hashes, observations and setup before calculating the measured differences.

Results distinguishes recorded correction readback from operator-declared camera continuity. A lower error is an observed difference between the two recordings; changes in exposure/WB or the stage can invalidate attribution. Physical qualification remains a separate check.

For a same-setup repeatability test, use Save Comparison Baseline, New Measurement, acquire new frames and Compare Measurements. The same saved binding is required. Arbitrary cross-setup comparisons remain rejected.
