Getting started¶
This guide introduces the current AlexPearce3D Studio development preview from a user's perspective.
Before you begin¶
AlexPearce3D Studio currently targets Apple silicon Macs. Exact macOS requirements, optional media runtimes, and beta distribution details depend on the selected build. Check Availability before relying on a format or service for production work.
Prepare a short local media clip and choose a folder where the application can write previews and exports. Optional Camera RAW formats, FrameFix operations, AI tools, and professional video output may require separate runtimes or hardware.
Create a composition¶
- Open AlexPearce3D Studio and create a composition.
- Import a supported movie, image sequence, or OpenEXR source.
- Add a processing node from the node browser.
- Connect the source output to the processing input.
- Select a node to inspect its controls and view its result.
- Add a Comp Output node for the final graph result.
See Import and composite for layer behavior, 360° inspection, Cryptomatte, and Camera RAW controls.
Understand the graph¶
The graph flows from sources through transforms, color, masks, restoration, and composite operations. A branch can reuse upstream work for a different output path. The viewer shows the selected result; Comp Output identifies the composition result.
The Node reference lists each node, its controls, and whether it is available, runtime-dependent, workflow-only, or viewer-only.
Make a first delivery¶
Use Comp Export for a direct export of the composition. Use a Process node when you want a reusable delivery recipe, an output branch, or an external delivery handoff.
Review Export and delivery before selecting a format, color treatment, destination, or external service.
Save and resume¶
Save the project before starting long analysis or processing. Some temporal tools store resumable state, but that state is tied to the analyzed source and relevant settings. Changing upstream media or processing can invalidate prior analysis.
